Meet Ely: Part One
With my husband’s two year anniversary coming up in just a week, I thought it would be special to finally introduce his beloved character, Elijah “Ely.” I hope you enjoy the story of when I met my Chapter One…<3
Without further ado…
An excerpt from my upcoming series of novels:
Here is Annie’s Ely:
“My long, wavy, blonde, darker blonde and Chex Mix similar hair in between me and the carseat. Little did I know, I was about to become a woman. Well, not yet anyway. And not in the way you’re thinking.
My sapphire eyes looking out the window. Just like the ocean, mysterious, signature.
The day is March 14th, 2014: the day that changed my life literally forever.
A previous love had broken my heart that September and I was just giving my heart a break, as my dear Demi Lovato says. I just was over it.
As my dear friend Aqua and her grandmother, Lulu, got out of rehearsal just as I did, we decide to grab a bite to eat, hence, me sitting in the “carseat.”
As we were discussing where to eat, something in my mind told me to go to Cracker Barrel. So, I followed that conviction and we went. Even after Aqua let her opinion be known that she did not want to go to Cracker Barrel.
I was 17 going on 18 that day, my birthday the same month. Our show was approaching the next week. It was like 21:00 I think when we arrived. Not many people there. Not many souls to see.
With my way skinnier body, well, I should say leaner and fit body, a Nike pullover dressed me. It was purple and yellow with a white pattern on it and finger holes. With an almost neon purple lining on the outsides of the main areas of this jacket. Black leggings, per usual. Stud earrings, per usual in ballet class. My normal and absolute rings. My swipe of black eyeliner lining my sapphire eyes. My cross necklace.
God was the only one who could’ve prepared me for what I was walking into that night, what I was walking into period. One of the best nights of my life. Best loves. Best everything. I remember prom night…don’t get ahead, Annie. We will get to that later, don’t you worry.
We sit down towards the window in the third dining room. I look around as Aqua is beside me and Lulu in front of me. I look to my left and “there he is,” God suddenly said to me in my mind and our future flashed so quickly in front of my sapphire eyes.
He turned around and that was the beginning of those famous sideburns in my life.”
To be continued in “Meet Ely: Part Two” coming soon!
Hope you enjoyed the little teaser!
