Meet Viara Fernandez

The one and only. This one will always a very special place in my heart. Changed my life forever. Enjoy.

Without further ado, here is an excerpt and introduction of one of the biggest characters in my upcoming books, Viara Fernandez:

Viara

Chapter One: An Old Friend

Just another shift at a family owned restaurant that like all of us worked at. Including him. I was working in front of the kitchen staff, well, hand in hand with them, when a new line cook came to be. That’s when I met Viara. Viara Fernandez. Ice eyes and cherry lips; wonder if he wore cherry chapstick to accentuate them. His lips were definitely his icon, his signature. Oh, lets not forget those gosh awful highlights...I mean...come on now. Highlights? In 2015? He definitely was a pretty boy. Along with those jeans… *rolls eyes* but, hey, I did a lot of that with Viara (in the best way possible, right? Riiiiiight).

That locally owned family restaurant contained a lot of my problems, memories. Reminders. But also good memories. It’s easy to become a prisoner to those, though. I was a prisoner to Viara’s memories and Viara’s beautiful soul. You’ll love him, keep reading.

“Hey, Annie. Can I get a petite burger, medium, with just pickle and add onion, please? Here, keep the change.” Viara said that as he sat the change down. I was on the phone when he did that. Luckily I knew his order. Men! I said, “V! What side?” He said, “You know!” He had this weird infatuation with sweet potatoes. So I rung in a petite burger with only pickles and add onion (since it didn’t come with onion, Viara *eye roll,* and a side of sweet potato. If he only knew the effect he had on me. He quickly began to be one of my first “epic” loves and he owned a big ass piece of my heart. He is also one of the reasons I call myself broken now (in the best way possible, right? Are you catching on now?).

I would doodle on my order pad when I wasn’t busy, which wasn’t much. “Annie and Viara.” “A and V.” I remember cuddling him one night. He told me, “A, this is the safest place you’ll ever be, with me.” I told him I knew that and I called him V just as he called me A. A & V.  Meant to be.

Viara had A LOT of issues. But he was so beautiful. I think there’s a song called beautiful trauma? That’s him. He was in the military, but not anymore. He was covered in tattoos, some coverups. Coverups of things he didn’t want me to see. He didn’t like for me to see his vulnerable side. His precious Annie, his and only his. Little did he know that I didn’t put my eggs in his basket even though I loved him fearlessly. You see, V was very messed up. Typical bad boy, typical issues. Typical baggage. Typical secrets. Typical danger. But, like, the danger that turned you on, ya know? I would think to myself, “He wants ME?” How unhealthy, Annie? Right?

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, shall we? Annie, start from the beginning and stop getting ahead of yourself. Okay, here we go. It was January 3rd, 2015, when I met Viara Fernandez. He wanted me to set him up with another server; I tried. It crashed and burned. Poor Viara. He got over it. Soon enough, he was onto my best friend Dest. We always competed with one another.”

He may look like a good idea, maybe. Did Annie change him? Or end up with more issues than she wanted? Find out in upcoming writings.

Thank you for reading - means a lot.
